SOHO, where fashion meets art, grows more popular each day. What was once a little-known hideaway for funky boutiques has become New York City's fastest growing shopping area. Avante garde boutiques, spas and galaries are now seeing neighbors such as Tesori, Valentino, Yves St Laurent, Nicole Miller & Armani. A notable recent addition is PRADA. If the totally "mod" shoes and other articles of women's clothing aren't enough to catch your interest, you're sure to marvel at the over-the-top architectural design of this truly decadent boutique. Cascading steps serve a dual purpose as they provide a resting place for both shoppers and merchandise (who's on display?) A clear, cylindrical elevator moves from floor to floor offering original views. Visit them on the corner of Broadway and Prince Street.

In summer, even shopping can be combined with the outdoors. One great place to achieve this is in New York City is South Street Seaport. This historic area on the southern tip of Manhattan provides a great place to shop, stroll, sightsee, eat and learn the history of New York City's shipping in the early to mid 19th century.

Walk along the cobble stone streets lined with unique shops towards Pier 17.
This multi-level structure right on the East River is filled with shops and
restaurants. Open boardwalks that wrap around the building on each level
provide spectacular views of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Along the shore you will see a collection of historic ships which form part
